Wendy Fischnaller - Business Development Director, Vertex

Wendy has 18 years' experience in Tax Technology having started her career at Sabrix (now Thomson Reuters OneSource) as part of the product management team. She spent many years working with both BP and Shell developing custom integrations for SAP and then leading the OneSource implementation for Shell’s global SAP rollout.

More recently, Wendy has managed indirect tax global projects – OneSource, native SAP, Vertex and custom built solutions for large multinationals across industries including Pharmaceutical, Manufacturing, Media and Commodity Trading. Wendy has extensive knowledge in European VAT, US Sales Tax, global indirect taxes and the challenges of global compliance and supply chain optimization for taxes.

Emmie Nygard - Global Compliance & Transformation Director, KPMG

Emmie is a Director at KPMG with more than 15 years’ experience advising and implementing tax technology solutions.  At KPMG Emmie has undertaken projects involving a range of areas including:

•    Tax optimization in ERPs
•    Tax engine implementations
•    Technology vendor selections
•    Process and controls reviews
•    VAT compliance reviews 
•    VAT reporting and compliance implementations

Emmie has particular experience in considering the tax end-to end process to determine where risks and/or opportunities lie.  This enables her to ensure that a holistic view is taken to all the controls (both systems and manual) in place in respect to tax.

Caroline Selander - Senior Manager, Indirect Tax, KPMG Sweden

Caroline has been with KPMG for ten years and has significant experience in giving VAT advice on international goods and services transactions, and has also worked on several tax technology and VAT data analytics projects.

Caroline has been on several VAT secondments to clients, and has quite recently come back from an one year secondment to KPMG UK where she has worked in the Global Compliance and Transformation team primarily focusing on tax technology from an indirect tax perspective.

Pontus Fornell - Head of Indirect Tax, KPMG Sweden

Pontus is responsible for e.g. VAT and customs and has more than 20 years of experience advising in Swedish and international indirect tax matters, mainly in the area of VAT. His experience includes a broad range of tax services such as Indirect Tax reviews and compliance, business restructurings, outsourcing and indirect tax planning.

Pontus has significant experience of working in cross-functional and international tax projects where he has been responsible for managing indirect tax issues across multiple markets and jurisdictions. In addition Pontus has experience from global goods supply chain projects where he advised multinational clients on the impact on VAT and customs.
